Mr. Jericho & Old Sarah

Our inaugural show - a duo of delightful (and delightfully absurd) Victorian comic operas. Performed for a week in London in June 2025, and then at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton the same summer.

Both are in the same whimsical, hillarious, topsy-turvy style of Gilbert, with the same beautiful and hummable tunes as Sullivan.

In Mr Jericho, the impoverished Earl of Margate and his son live in disguise (and disgrace), with the latter working as an omnibus driver, until an 'accident with the bus' begins a series of chance meetings that could change their fortunes forever. Mr Jericho’s title song will get stuck in your head for days!

Old Sarah takes us to the seaside town of Dullport for a suitably absurd tale, as tax collector Archibald struggles to reconcile his love for smuggler's daughter Margery with his duty. But what will happen when the Rt. Hon. Claude Newcastle - Chancellor of the Exchequer - arrives in Dullport for a holiday and overhears news of a smuggler (and worse - a smuggler who won’t declare his income to the Inland Revenue!)?
